FreeBit Announces New App, ServersMan@iPhone 3.0β
Instant Movie Broadcast and P2P File Share on your iPhone!
TOKYO, JAPAN – August 17, 2009 – FreeBit™ Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 3843), provider of unique technologies to many consumer electronics companies, including Sony, and to as many as 80% of Japan’s ISPs, announced that its latest Personal Data Center Software “ServersMan™@iPhone 3.0β” is now available as a free download from the Apple® App Store (SM) in the U.S. and Japan.
ServersMan is popular file management software among iPhone™ users. ServersMan allows smartphones, such as the iPhone™ and devices running Windows Mobile®, to function as a web server and to support network file storage by downloading and setting simple configurations.
ServersMan@iPhone 3.0β is compatible with Bluetooth®. In addition to ordinary file transmission via Internet or VPN, it enables P2P file transmission via Bluetooth between two iPhones. ServersMan supports PDF, Office Documents (e.g. .doc, .xls), and images (e.g. .jpg, .gif). With iPhone 3GS, users can shoot videos and then transfer videos them to other iPhones by P2P.
The other features are;
--Access Notification while ServersMan is Inactive
Since iPhone cannot run applications in the background, an iPhone cannot be accessed while ServersMan is inactive. To ease this problem, ServersMan@iPhone 3.0β displays notification on the iPhone, to let the user know when ServersMan needs to be activated.
--Video Broadcasting on iPhone 3GS
With an iPhone 3GS, ServersMan can be used to broadcast movies filmed on the iPhone to the world.
--Accessible to iPod Library from ServersMan Music Player
You can access and play music files in your iPod® library* even when running ServersMan. Play music seamlessly, even if the file is DRM protected.
*ServersMan Music Player supports only iPod Playlist.
--Send files as email attachments
Files saved in ServersMan can be distributed as email attachments.
--User Interface Design Theme
The ServersMan user interface design can be user-selected from a total of six design themes.
Freebit is planning to open ServersMan Apps API and billing systems. The details will be announced in due course. We are also now developing ServersMan SDK for all developers.
To use ServersMan@iPhone, iPhone OS 3.0 software is required.
